Is the Amber Creature referring to the monster from "Jeremy Sees Things"?

Awesome! Do you plan on building on that concept more? Is this some kind of Paranormal wildlife or something?

Ivory and Amber, will there be any Ebony creatures?

maybe. also considered an Emerald. but don't want the "mineral creature" convention to get too worn out.

Yeah better throw in a flesh creature in there for some variety!

Well they're not literally made of  those minerals (though in Ivory's case it's basically bone) they just have distinctive colors. like if you saw an elephant for the first time and called it a "Slate Creature"

I know that, I meant more of a horrible flesh colored goopy monster to balance out all these rough skinned ones

Oh man, so it's above the amber creature in the food chain? That's pretty nuts. But based on how you describe it, I can totally see it. It's actually kinda funny to think of something as unsettling as the amber creature getting preyed upon by a bony winged baboon. Really puts things into perspective. XD

I do like the design though. The way its eyes are looking down and the pose make it look like it's just about to swoop down on someone. Great stuff!

I was thinking, if the Amber Creature is the Early Human of it's Planet, the Ivory Creature is it's Saber toothed Cat. Big dangerous apex predator but doesn't have that higher brain function, and both species are dangerous to each other.

The two creatures developed simultaneously in an evolutionary arms race which is the result of a lot of their notable features-

The branching globule was originally used to stick prey's feet to the ground, but became very useful as a way to immobilize an Amber creature's arms so they can't use their finger venom - which causes instant death (red orb reaction) if it makes contact with the bloodstream. This is also why the Ivory is covered in armor and has wings that fold up.

The globule branches lead to the Ambers have those lobster claws on those fingers, to cut themselves free from the branches

The spinning jaws enable the Ivory to grab it's prey's limbs and then shear them off by spinning the torso inside the jaws

The Ivory armor is why the Amber creatures have a huge sharp spike for a proboscis - so they can penetrate the Ivory's armor and make holes, which they can get their hands in and inject venom

Ambers will attempt to ground these creatures and kill them if possible by collectively stabbing at with their proboscis, and both species kill each other's young whenever the opportunity arises. The most nefarious trick that the Amber creatures learned, is for a group of them to collect their venom into a pot and set a fire under it, which boils the venom into a steam that will kill anything upwind that breathes it. Body armor doesn't save them from that!

Oh damn, so it's two creatures vying to be at the top of the food chain, and evolution continues to modify them as they come up with different and more creative ways to exploit weaknesses or nullify advantages. That's pretty interesting! Reminds me of a few parallel species in real life, but these two are playing for keeps! I guess in this instance, it is more likely that the amber creature will win out in time due to their more complex brain, allowing for problem solving, planning, trickery, and such things. This is fun to think about, though. Now it just makes me wish you'd build a whole world setting with different alien and nightmarish creatures.

You know, I made a text template for detailing and cataloging new flora and fauna for my own world setting. If you want, I can share it with you. It might come in handy if you ever want to come up with new ideas. It has things like body composition (What material is it primarily made up of), body symmetry (Amorphous, bilateral, radial), limb type (bipedal, piscine, arthropod, etc) and similar things. Given that it's designed for a fantasy setting, however, you'd probably want to modify it. XD

World building around these two creatures is a tempting idea.

also I would like to see that template, it sounds cool.
